This is a view from the front side of my work. Here you can see that the leaves are domed and taking on a very nice raised shape. You can also see the chasing that was done at the beginning when my pattern was outlined. I will work bothon the front and back side of my work annealing in between until I get the desired relief.
Back side
Front side Now I feel it is ready for some texture around the background of my pattern. This will help to make the flowers and leaves stand out.
These are my matting tools and use the to hammer to pattern into the background of the flowers
You can see that the piece has texture around the flowers and leaves
Now I will clean the metal with a brass brush under running water
After Cleaning
Close up
Notice how the matted patteren make the leaves and petals stand out
Next is deterning where I want to cut out the unwanted silver
Using a caliper I decised the thickness of the brcelet and score the metal so I have a line to follow with my jewelers saw.
Notice the lines that the caliper made into my silver
Start sawing around the flowers making sure to leave the area where the band is alone.
Once I get the flowers done I will start to saw along the marks made with my caliper for the band
Here is my first one!
Using a small needle file. I smooth out and clean up all of the edges
Make sure to go around every point and smooth out your edges
Here they both are
Close up one end
Close up other end
